Employment Consultants:

Washington Vocational Services is looking for dedicated Employment Consultants to join our compassionate, family orientated, and flexible team of professionals in Snohomish County. The Employment Consultant position requires an outgoing individual to problem-solve creatively while working with clients and potential employers. To ensure employee readiness and success, on-the-job training and job shadowing is provided to new employees to help them learn and grow along with the position.

BRIEF RESPONSIBILITIES Meet, interview, and assess needs, abilities, and interests of each individual.

Client skills assessment and Job Development through marketing client skills to potential employers.

Utilize individual’s strengths, abilities, and interests to determine and secure appropriate work sites.

Provide services including resume development, job search skills training and calling upon employers for available positions.

Provide on the job coaching, training, and on the job readiness skills.

Works closely with employers, case managers, family & residential supports, and personnel at Human Services or DVR.Document all case activity and time spent, by way of written case notes.

Provide a full range of case management services to individuals referred by the Developmental Disabilities Administration and WA Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Responsible for writing case correspondence, monthly reports to referral sources, and monitoring case progress.

Conduct on the job work assessments, job development, and job retention.

QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma/GED required.

Able to provide own reliable transportation daily to multiple off-site meetings.

Must have current driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Willing to consent for the background checks required by Washington State Patrol and by the Department of Social and Health Services.

Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills

Must understand and demonstrate the importance of ethical consideration in the field of human services.

Proof of Vaccination against Covid, required.
