Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor 2 (JRC2)

Everett, Washington – Full‑time, non‑permanent. Posted to close Sunday, July 26, 2026. Salary: $61,332–$80,496 per year. No on‑site 24/7 facility 5% premium.

Position Overview:

Responsible for providing therapeutic, trauma‑informed aftercare services to youth transitioning back into the community, ensuring a least restrictive, community‑based step‑down from secure confinement. Works collaboratively with Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselors, specialists, law enforcement, court personnel, and service providers to support youth, families and the community.

• Provide aftercare services to youth on supervision and their families to support transition and reentry.
• Conduct interviews, administer and interpret risk assessments to determine level of care, supervision, and referral for treatment services.
• Model pro‑social adaptive behavior and assess youth behavior for risk to self or community.
• Collaborate with JRC1, JR Specialists and other JRC2s.
• Participate in future planning and attend related meetings during the CTS evaluation period and upon release from residential supervision.
• Develop family service plans in consultation with families and providers, prioritizing treatment targets.
• Assess needs in families’ home environments to support successful transition of youth.
• Network and communicate effectively with law enforcement, courts, schools, treatment providers, tribes, and other juvenile‑justice professionals.

• Equivalent combination of education and experience totaling five years.
• OR one year as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselor Assistant (JRCA) or JRC

• OR a bachelor’s degree plus one year of professional experience with at‑risk or justice‑system involved youth (e.g., case manager, counselor, probation officer).
• Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or related field substitutes for one year of experience.
• Ability to take action to learn and grow.
• Ability to take action to meet the needs of others.

• Knowledge of adolescent development and juvenile rehabilitation practices.
• Experience delivering cognitive/behavioral therapeutic interventions.
• Trauma‑informed care approach.
• Ability to engage clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Understanding of group dynamics and societal trends related to juvenile delinquency.

• Must obtain and maintain an Agency‑Affiliated Counselor or higher credential from the Washington State Department of Health.
• Valid First‑Aid/CPR/AED certification.
