Adult/Dislocated Worker Career Advisor
Full‑time, non‑exempt position located in Snohomish County, WA reporting to the WIOA Program Lead.
Career Team is looking to hire a Career Advisor who will perform professional work providing career counseling, intensive case management, and follow‑up services. This role is 100% on‑site at the listed location.
Responsibilities- Provide information and case management services to the community
- Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce programs
- Assess career seekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods
- Serve as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners
- Enter data into and otherwise use and process career seekers through any participant information system as required
- Guide career seekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their specific occupational goals
- Stay on top of labor market trends and best practices
- Counsel career seekers on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services
- Refer individuals to appropriate services, training programs, or job opportunities and follow up on those activities
- Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations for career seekers
- Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation
- Maintain accurate individual case files for each registered customer ensuring each file contains all required eligibility documents and meets compliance requirements
- Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks
- Participate in all staff‑related events as required including training and team meetings
- Complete all required reports within the data management system
- Approach each day and task with a solutions‑oriented and responsive mindset
- Bachelor’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make well‑thought‑out decisions
- Computer literate with MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and ability to learn specialized databases and software systems
- Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base with cultural sensitivity
- Ability to motivate career seekers towards achieving goals
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to meet and exceed set goals and objectives
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written
- Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirements
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient in maintaining a high level of confidentiality
- Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Valid driver’s license
- Multi‑lingual or bilingual is a plus
- Master’s or MBA degree is preferred
- Knowledgeable about the local region and relevant partners is preferred
Salary: $54,500 - $57,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience. Career Team offers a competitive benefits package including healthcare, dental, and personal/vacation time.
TravelTravel is primarily limited to necessary trips within Snohomish County to support career seekers.
