TITLE: Adult/Dislocated Worker Career Advisor

REPORTS TO: WIOA Program Lead

LOCATION: Snohomish County, WA

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full‑Time, Non‑Exempt Employee

Career Team is looking to hire a Career Advisor who will provide career counseling, intensive case management, and follow‑up services under the supervision of the WIOA Program Lead.

Your Impact on Career Team’s Success
  • Provide information and case management services to the community
  • Complete intake and eligibility determination for the workforce programs
  • Assess career seekers’ employment, abilities, and training needs through interviewing, testing, and other methods
  • Serve as a liaison between workforce development programs and community partners
  • Enter data into and otherwise use participant information systems as required
  • Guide career seekers through the preparation of individual employment plans (IEP) based on their specific occupational goals
  • Stay on top of labor market trends and best practices
  • Counsel career seekers on available job opportunities, training programs, and other services
  • Refer individuals to appropriate services, training programs, or job opportunities and follow up on those activities
  • Conduct orientation sessions, workshops, job clubs, and other group presentations for career seekers
  • Work in a dynamic team environment with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation
  • Maintain accurate individual case files for each registered customer, ensuring all required eligibility documents are included and compliance requirements are met
  • Meet and/or exceed program benchmarks
  • Participate in all staff‑related events, including training and team meetings
  • Complete all required reports within the data management system
  • Approach each day and task with a solutions‑oriented and responsive mindset

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

To Qualify for This Role, You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication skills and knowledge about community resources
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make well‑thought‑out decisions
  • Computer literate with basic MS Word and Excel skills; ability to learn specialized databases and software systems
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse customer base in a culturally sensitive manner
  • Ability to motivate career seekers toward achieving goals
  • Strong business acumen
  • Ability to meet and exceed set goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, time‑management, customer‑service, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient in maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Exceptional time‑management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Valid driver’s license
Additional Skills/Knowledge Career Team Would Love for This Role
  • Master’s or MBA degree
  • Knowledgeable about the local region and relevant partners
  • Bilingual or multilingual

Salary
: $54,500 - $57,000/yr. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Competitive benefits include healthcare, dental, and personal/vacation time.

Travel
:
Limited to necessary trips within Snohomish County to support career seekers.
