Pay Rate: $21.65 per hour

Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that offers free job training, education, and placement services. The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating Power Industrial Trucks (PIT) such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and front‑end loaders to transfer and load donated goods in support of the organization’s business operations.

• Perform pre‑ and post‑operation inspections of equipment, ensuring federal and state compliance.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other PIT equipment safely and efficiently according to Goodwill policy.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable materials and report findings.
• Maintain equipment in a ready state; clean tracks or wheels as needed to minimize downtime.
• Report needed repairs to supervisor promptly.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and report potential hazards or accidents.
• Build and maintain customer satisfaction internally and externally.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum 1 year of prior equipment operation experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse‑type environment with familiarity of warehouse procedures and operations.
• Experience working at OSHA‑regulated sites.
• Good time‑management skills to complete responsibilities efficiently and safely.
• Strong follow‑through ability and capacity to adhere to work schedule and handle challenges as they arise.
• Goodwill forklift certification required (must meet eligibility requirements).

• Lift and carry up to 40–50 pounds; perform repetitive tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Communicate verbally and in writing with various individuals, including those with limited English skills.
• Organize, sort, categorize, count, and perform basic math.
• Problem‑solve, prioritize tasks, and provide customer service skills.
