OverviewThe Route Sales Support Driver builds solid, positive working relationships with customers and is highly motivated to exceed their expectations and requirements. In a competitive environment, successful RSSs balance exceptional customer service with meeting and exceeding individual sales growth goals. RSSs act as advocates for the organization, striving to generate goodwill and loyalty while performing their work professionally.
Responsibilities- Safely operate a company step van in the designated area to provide products and service to a variety of clients.
- Verify daily preventative maintenance of the vehicle and maintain proper operator documentation.
- Manage the daily route independently to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product.
- Load and unload product per company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Review invoices daily for complete and accurate information and make corrections as needed.
- Meet sales goals and promote overall route growth to enhance profitability.
- Develop leads and prospects, call prospective customers to solicit business, prepare service agreements, and install new accounts. Assist the sales organization in procuring additional new business.
- Possess a strong understanding of services, policies, and pricing methods and communicate these clearly to customers.
- Monitor customer feedback and handle customer issues promptly and courteously.
- Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others by using safe precautions, proper tools, and equipment, and adhering to all safe work practices and policies.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the activities enumerated above.
- Minimum of 21 years of age, valid driver’s license, and excellent driving record.
- Customer service experience with a wide variety of consistent customer contact.
- Strong math and basic computer skills.
- Experience selling services/products and generating new business preferred.
- Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and think quickly to identify and solve customer concerns.
- Exposure to adverse and varying weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures, depending on geographical location.
- Fast‑paced environment that may require irregular and long hours.
- Routine lifting and maneuvering of at least 25 lbs and load/unload product from truck without assistance.
- Occasional lifting and maneuvering of 50+ lbs.
- Position requires bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching.
Valid driver’s license (non‑CDL) with minimal points/violations in the last three years.
EducationHigh school degree or equivalent.
BenefitsVestis offers comprehensive benefit programs and services, including medical, dental, vision, and pension. Employees are eligible for 40 hours of vacation, 16 hours of floating holidays, and paid sick time each year. Employees also receive six paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
CompensationHourly rate ranges from $28.36, depending on circumstances such as skills, qualifications, degrees, certifications, prior experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
