POSITION TITLE: Health & Wellness Maintenance Technician
DEPARTMENT: Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center (Kroc Center Hawaii)
SUPERVISOR: Health & Wellness Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
CLASSIFICATION: Part-time, Hourly Rate $16.00

POSITION SUMMARYThe Health & Wellness Maintenance Technician will coordinate and execute a preventive maintenance schedule for Health & Wellness equipment, prescribed by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) specifications, and in consultation with the center director. This includes routine scheduled cleaning, adjustment, lubrication, and the replacement of cables, belts, and vacuum dusting. In collaboration with OEM technicians, the Technician will diagnose and repair center equipment, including unplugging and replacing electronic control boards or components, checking connections, and calibrating or internally aligning fitness and assorted cardio and strength equipment.
The role also involves weekly preventive checks of all equipment, at least twice monthly for possible repairs, and general custodial duties such as detailing equipment, sweeping, mopping, and dusting. The Technician must have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which is reflected in their professional conduct and representation of the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year experience performing light maintenance, preferably with cardiovascular and strength training equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Responsible for maintenance and performance of all Health & Wellness equipment; inspect equipment on routine schedule.
- Establish a preventive maintenance program for all equipment in consultation with the Health and Wellness Director and as prescribed by OEM specifications.
- Perform routine repairs to cardiovascular and strength training equipment following OEM specifications and other facility related equipment/systems as required.
- Complete all work orders and PMs as assigned and annotate and update work logs for specific requirements.
- Assist in identifying projects requiring the services of an outside contractor; assist in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors as directed by Health & Wellness Director.
- Maintain and inventory a ready supply of routine maintenance and custodial supplies.
- Update MSDS as required.
- Assist in maintaining designated properties in compliance with applicable local, state and company rules, codes and regulations (OSHA, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and complete minor miscellaneous repairs; replace light bulbs and ballasts; perform minor electrical, plumbing and mechanical repairs as may be required.
- Follow oral and written instructions while communicating with Program Supervisors and Staff.
- Follow and ensure adherence to The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain the Code of Ethics policy, which has been established for the Kroc Center Hawaii.
- Attend staff meetings and other administrative meetings.
- Maintain regular and punctual work attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
