Full Time – The Facilities Manager (FM) is responsible for the hands‑on, day‑to‑day operation of all physical assets at the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, including oversight of building systems, utility infrastructure, and direct supervision of Facilities Department staff. The FM provides leadership in the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance and repair operations within a large, complex facility.

The role encompasses supervisory, engineering, and administrative responsibilities, ensuring all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable standards. The FM also manages the technical, operational, and engineering aspects of construction, renovation, and facility design projects for a facility spanning more than 200,000 square feet of program space across 15 acres.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Direct, supervise, plan, evaluate, and coordinate the work of facilities staff, including Housekeeping and Security teams; establish goals, assign work, and adjust schedules and priorities as needed.
  • Provide oversight of staff training and development, including on‑the‑job and external training programs.
  • Make sound technical decisions across multiple trades, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
  • Administer and maintain the work order system to ensure timely completion and accurate tracking of tasks.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and supplies in accordance with organizational policies and budget constraints.
  • Oversee inventory and stock control systems for tools, parts, and supplies.
  • Evaluate and determine whether work should be performed in‑house or outsourced to contractors.
  • Advise leadership on technical matters related to maintenance, repair, renovation, and replacement of facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Oversee maintenance of critical systems, including high‑voltage electrical, HVAC, aquatic systems, telecommunications, and multimedia cabling infrastructure.
  • Conduct daily inspections of all facilities, including aquatic centers, pools, recreational areas, gymnasium, performing arts spaces, education centers, childcare areas, dormitories, parking lots, and landscaped grounds to identify maintenance needs and capital improvement projects.
  • Monitor building systems daily, including electrical, security, communication, and ventilation systems.
  • Administer key control systems to ensure facility security and accountability.
  • Serve as the primary responder for fire alarms, hazardous material incidents, and emergency situations.
  • Maintain high operational efficiency across all facilities and systems.
  • Collaborate regularly with leadership, including the Director of Operations and Center Director, to establish priorities and recommend repairs, renovations, and capital improvements.
  • Maintain and administer warranty programs and documentation for facilities and equipment.
  • Train maintenance staff in the safe and proper use of equipment, tools, and cleaning materials.
  • Oversee maintenance, documentation, and compliance for all vehicles and motorized equipment.
  • Supervise and perform quality control inspections of work completed by internal staff and external contractors.
  • Implement systems and procedures to safeguard facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Monitor for and respond to graffiti or vandalism; document incidents, coordinate reporting to law enforcement, and ensure prompt repair.
