POSITION SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the overall administration and execution of daily housekeeping operations, ensuring the facility remains clean, safe, and properly maintained. This includes oversight of in-house staff and external contract personnel, as well as occasional supervision of facility stewards. Key duties include workforce scheduling, staff training, quality assurance, inventory management, and ensuring adherence to safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.

The manager works collaboratively with internal departments to promote guest satisfaction and preserve the integrity of Kroc Center Hawaii’s assets. The Housekeeping Manager will have a deep commitment to the mission of The Salvation Army, which will be evident in his or her professional life and the way he or she represents The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in the community.

• High school diploma or equivalent; college education preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of housekeeping or customer service experience in a supervisory/managerial role.
• Knowledge of housekeeping standards, safety practices, and operational procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer proficiency (e.g., MS Office).
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be accepted.

• OSHA Training Certificate.
• Experience with work order systems.
• Customer service or related professional certifications.
• Extensive knowledge related to commercial housekeeping/custodial best practices.

Staff Management and Training:

• Provide supervision, mentorship, and motivation to housekeeping personnel; support stewards when needed as assigned, ensuring consistent seven-day operations and 24-hour coverage during major events such as Project Grad Nights.
• Train new staff in cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and organizational policies.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
• Develop and manage daily/weekly schedules, ensuring proper staffing coverage.
