The RN Manager provides leadership on the unit to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and staff satisfaction.
Job SummaryCreates an environment where front line nurses and ancillary staff provide whole‑person care that is safe, complication‑free, and optimizes functional independence for each patient. Maintains a highly‑visible presence on the unit, collaborates closely with staff, charge nurses, physicians and other department leaders to ensure efficient operations and high patient/family/staff satisfaction.
Essential Functions- Build and lead a high‑performing clinical team, recruit and retain staff, set action plans, evaluate personnel, coach, discipline and monitor attendance.
- Set and achieve goals for patient safety, quality of care and regulatory compliance; develop strategies to improve satisfaction and establish standards of care.
- Conduct daily rounds with physicians and staff, coordinate care, resolve operational issues, and initiate team conferences to revise care plans.
- Assess unit staffing needs, request or add personnel, authorize overtime, and complete monthly staffing schedules.
- Facilitate throughput, ensure equipment maintenance, prevent complications, and review emergency preparedness.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required).
• Master’s Degree (preferred).
• Five years technical experience (preferred).
• One year leadership experience (preferred).
• Two years acute‑care nursing experience (preferred). - Licenses / Certifications
• Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (required).
• CPR or BLS certification (preferred).
• National specialty certification or nursing administration (preferred). - Facility Specific Certifications
• BLS certification (required). - Department Specific Certifications
• NRP (required).
• FHM (required).
• ACLS (required).
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (required).
• TEAM or TEAM‑A (required).
All associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable.
