CMBM Brand Production Artist – Student Worker-FY27
Hours per week: 15 (determined by student’s academic schedule). Expected term:
September 5, 2026 – May 27, 2027. Compensation: hourly rate $17.00.
The office of Communications, Marketing, and Brand Management seeks a brand production artist who will be assigned primarily to a project that involves updating the logos of all of the schools, departments, and offices at the college. This is a highly technical and precise project with strict protocols for production, adhering to existing naming conventions, tracking workflow, and archiving. The artist will work directly with the Associate Director of Creative Services.
Additional tasks may include designing and preparing graphics for specialty items, email, social media and the web; updating existing graphics by editing text or color, changing photos, or modifying the layout; retouching photographs and editing complex graphs and charts. Knowledge of print production and reproduction methods is a plus.
Responsibilities- Assist Associate Director of Creative Services with institutional logo project.
- Maintain logo project system for tracking proofs and progress.
- Using established templates and naming convention, update and/or modify logo artwork in Adobe Illustrator.
- Design graphics for specialty items in Adobe Illustrator.
- Resize and retouch artwork for print and electronic applications in Adobe Photoshop.
- Understand and comply with graphic and editorial brand standards.
- Accurately prepare files for printers, internal clients, and vendor partners.
- Provide quality customer service when working with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
- Experience the processes of project origination, planning, and execution.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro on the Mac platform.
- Highly organized and comfortable working on one project over an extended period of time.
- Must present a portfolio at the job interview, including examples of vector graphics designed in Adobe Illustrator, publications designed in InDesign, and examples of photo retouching.
- Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Minimum GPA of 3.5 in graphic design courses.
