Shape the Future of Air Quality & Environmental Compliance At ERM, we’re looking for a Managing Consultant, Air Quality & Environmental Compliance to join our team in Ewing, NJ—a strategic, client-facing role where your expertise directly influences how leading organizations navigate complex environmental regulations while advancing sustainable operations. What Your Impact Is:
Lead complex air permitting and compliance programs for major industrial clients
Provide expert guidance on EPCRA and TRI reporting, ensuring regulatory accuracy and alignment
Build trusted client relationships and position ERM as a go-to advisor for environmental solutions
What You'll Bring:
Required Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related field. Or equivalent experience4–6+ years of EHS consulting experience across sectors like manufacturing, oil & gas, power, mining, or chemicals
Proven expertise in EPCRA Tier II/TRI threshold and release calculations, including QA/QC review
Strong working knowledge of EPA and state environmental regulations
Advanced Excel skills for managing large datasets and complex calculations
Exceptional communication, analytical, and project management skills
This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship
Preferred
Experience with air release calculations (emission factors, controls)
Familiarity with Power
BI, Access, and advanced data visualization tools
Business development experience with the ability to grow and strengthen client relationships
Key Responsibilities:
Manage air permitting and compliance assurance programs for diverse industrial clients
Develop effective permitting strategies and maintain strong relationships with clients and regulatory agencies
Oversee large-scale EPCRA and TRI reporting programs, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
Provide QA/QC review of emissions and compliance calculations across multiple sectors
Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment
Support business development through proposal preparation and client engagement
Deliver projects on scope, budget, and schedule while upholding ERM’s quality standards
For the Managing Consultant, Air Quality & Environmental Compliance position, the anticipated annual base pay is $103,967–$132,573 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are not bonus eligible).We
