Managing Technical Consultant, Ecologist

• BS or MS in biology, wetland science, plant ecology, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of consulting experience (8+ preferred) in ecological evaluations, QA/QC, technical writing, and multi‑media permitting.
• Deep knowledge of biological and wetland ecology impact assessment and management issues across industry sectors.
• Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations; NJDEP experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and maintain integrity and professionalism.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

• Experience with NJDEP’s Bureau of Environmental Radiation (BER). Established reputation with regulators and recognized technical expertise in ecological assessment approvals.
• Positive, collaborative mindset with a drive for ERM’s global success.

• Coordinate environmental investigations of surface water, sediments, and wetlands, ensuring compliance with NJDEP regulations.
• Lead project teams in preparing technical documents, including Ecological Evaluations and Remedial Investigation Reports.
• Oversee riparian and wetland restoration projects under NJDEP and Natural Resource Trustees.
• Support ecological risk assessments through data interpretation and collaboration with risk assessors.
• Manage land use and wetlands permitting efforts under NJDEP programs.
• Maintain strong client and agency relationships while delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Additional duties may include natural resource surveys, biological monitoring, field team management, and specialized site assessments.

The anticipated annual base pay is $90,810 – $124,245 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed‑term/flex‑force employees are not bonus eligible).
