Responsibilities- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Apache Kafka in a production environment to ensure high availability, data integrity, and security.
- Implement best practices for disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) of Kafka clusters.
- Implement security measures including SSL/TLS, SASL, and Kerberos.
- Monitor Kafka performance and health using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure Kafka meets business requirements while optimizing performance, maintainability, reliability, and scalability.
- Maintain established standards for data encryption, access control, and overall Kafka operations.
- Configure and manage Kafka cluster components and related infrastructure (brokers, Zoo Keeper, Kafka Connect, Kafka Streams) as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in managing and administering Apache Kafka in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Kafka architecture, including brokers, Zoo Keeper, Kafka Connect, and Kafka Streams.
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery configurations for Kafka clusters.
- Experience with security best practices, including SSL/TLS encryption, SASL, and Kerberos.
- Proficiency in monitoring Kafka with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, and data flow management.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
