At RESRG Automotive, quality is at the core of everything we do. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring our products meet customer specifications and industry standards through testing, analysis, and continuous quality improvement.
PurposeThe Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing laboratory testing, inspections, and analysis to support manufacturing operations. This position helps ensure automotive products meet customer, company, and regulatory quality requirements by monitoring processes, conducting tests, and reporting results.
What You Will Do in This Role- Perform laboratory testing on paint, raw materials, and finished products according to established procedures.
- Collect and analyze samples from production processes.
- Record, maintain, and report test results accurately and timely.
- Monitor product quality and identify potential issues before they impact production.
- Assist in investigating quality concerns and customer complaints.
- Support corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
- Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or related education preferred.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to accurately record data and prepare reports.
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 35 pounds as needed.
- Available to work any shift, overtime, and weekends if required.
- Conduct required laboratory tests and inspections according to customer and company specifications.
- Verify compliance with quality standards and process requirements.
- Maintain testing records, quality documentation, and inspection reports.
- Assist in monitoring paint characteristics, chemical concentrations, and process parameters.
- Perform routine equipment checks, maintenance, and calibration.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Utilize 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
- Adhere to all plant policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Take ownership of company, plant, and departmental goals related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Participate in training and continuous improvement programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Previous laboratory, quality, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing, paint systems, or quality testing is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with measuring equipment, testing instruments, and quality management systems.
- Experience interpreting specifications, test procedures, and technical documents.
- Experience is always valuable, and equivalent combinations of experience and training will be considered.
