POSITION TITLE:

Maintenance/Grounds

REPORTS TO:

Head Maintenance/District Business Manager QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Skilled labor knowledge
  • Lifting capability - 50 pounds

  • To maintain the school buildings and grounds in a condition of operating excellence so that they can be used for full educational purposes at all times.

  • Maintains a friendly and helpful environment.
  • Follow all job related safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Attends district and departmental meetings and training classes as directed.
  • Maintains all work sights/areas in a safe and sanitary standard as required by the school district.
  • Communicates appropriately with supervisors, other employees and the general public.
  • Performs a wide variety of tasks using tools and equipment to accomplish cleaning/repair responsibilities in a safe environment.
  • Assumes responsibility for tasks other than those listed which may be assigned by supervisor/administrator
  • Is constantly aware of the responsibility to create a safe school environment by detecting, identifying, removing, and/or preventing hazardous conditions.
  • Provides for the proper care and security of vehicles, tools, supplies and equipment assigned.
  • Maintains all pertinent records, reports, and other paperwork as required
  • Role model/reinforce appropriate behaviors for students.
    • Performance Responsibilities
  • Performs groundskeeping services, including but not limited to mowing, edging, trimming, weed control, raking leaves, fertilization, and pruning.
  • Perform regular trash and debris pick up around all facilities.
  • Perform maintenance activities as deemed appropriate by the supervisor and within the scope of the individual’s skill level.
  • Assist in district deliveries (furniture, Equipment)
  • Vehicle maintenance
  • Operate bobcat, tractor, forklift, etc.
  • Snow and ice removal
  • Report all incidents of damage or vandalism to the supervisor.
  • Assist with events set up and tear down.
  • Report all unsafe and/or unhealthy conditions to the facility supervisor.
  • Assist with other related duties as well as in other areas of maintenance as assigned by the supervisor.
