McWane Plant & Industrial, Exeter, has one of the industry’s largest manufacturing operations where we fabricate, machine, and test our water control products based out of Exeter, California. MPIE is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for the Valve Department. The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining valve inventory and processing valve orders for shipment, making changes and adjustments to valves as needed, operating valve test machines, forklifts, cranes and packaging equipment, and performing in-person valve tests with customers as required.

Hourly Pay Range: $22 - $23

• Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Wears appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
• Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area as well as maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Proactively promotes the McWane Way principles.
• Follows all processes and procedures associated with the Waterman Safety Management Program. Advises management of any deviations from this program.
• Identifies requirements for each valve order.
• Operates forklift to move valves inside/outside the plant.
• Reworks valves to meet customer requirements.
• Proficient with quality and able to meet prescribed production output objectives for the work center.
• Paints and packages finished product.
• Manages inventory locations and product packaging.
• Good with basic math, able to read a tape measure and micrometer.
• Has an understanding of machinery processes.
• Prints, reads, understands, and completes work orders in D365.
• Requires cross‑training in the pipe department.
• Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Team player, willingness to work when needed, assists across a variety of different machines.
• Positive, enthusiastic, and helpful.

• Requires standing, walking, and using hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
• Requires verbal and written communication.
• Occasionally requires reaching with hands and arms and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must meet physical requirements and wear appropriate PPE (steel‑toed boots, safety glasses and hearing protection).
