Job Description
MPIE is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for the Valve Department. The Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining valve inventory and processing valve orders for shipment. Make changes and adjustments to valves as needed. Operate valve test machines, forklifts, cranes and packaging equipment. Perform in person valve tests with customers as required.

- Ensuring personal safety and the safety of co‑workers.
- Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Wears appropriate PPE including fall, respiratory, hearing, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
- Responsible for cleanliness of the assigned work area and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Proactively promotes the McWane Way principles.
- Follows all processes and procedures associated with the Waterman Safety Management Program and advises management of any deviations.
- Identifies requirements for each valve order.
- Operates forklift to move valves inside/outside the plant.
- Reworks valves to meet customer requirements.
- Proficient with quality and able to meet prescribed production output objectives for the work center.
- Paints and packages finished product.
- Manages inventory locations and product packaging.
- Has good basic math skills; can read tape measure and micrometer.
- Understands machinery processes.
- Prints, reads, understands, and completes work orders in D365.
- Cross‑trains in the pipe department.
- Maintains consistent attendance and arrives on time every day.
- Team player; willing to work when needed and assist across a variety of machines.
- Positive, enthusiastic, and helpful.
- Regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Communicates verbally and in writing.
- Occasionally reaches with hands and arms and stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Lifts and/or moves up to 10 lbs routinely, up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Adheres to physical requirements and wears appropriate PPE (steel‑toed boots, safety glasses, hearing protection).
- Works in dust and fumes with required PPE.
- Works overtime and extended hours as required by customers and company demands.
- Works outside in all weather conditions and tolerates loud noises.
- Knows industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
- Requires close, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment, and color discrimination.
- Operates a forklift and obtains certification.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be safety oriented for self and others.
Must be willing to work in a team environment.
