Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in welding is highly preferred. Continuous education and certification renewal are often required to keep up with evolving welding technologies and methods.
Certification, Licenses, Registrations Professional credentials from recognized organizations such as the American Welding Society (AWS), including Certified Welder (CW) status. Skills/Abilities Hands-on welding experience through previous jobs or apprenticeships; familiarity with different metals and welding techniques. Working knowledge of MIG welding equipment. Language Ability Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other team members of the organization.
Mathematics Ability Ability to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percentages. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed of uninvolved instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables. Hourly Pay Rate: $20-$21
