Demand Planner is responsible for maintaining an informed demand plan aligned to the company’s fiscal objectives. This role leads cross‑functional discussions with commercial and sales teams, using historical data analysis and business intelligence to provide updated plans for their assigned categories.
As part of the Supply Chain group, the Demand Planner works alongside Supply and Sourcing counterparts, providing insight for near‑ and long‑term forecasts to inform production planning at respective factories.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities- Maintain direct responsibility for demand planning functions for a specific category.
- Actively manage demand plan at material/SKU/DC level.
- Manage the demand plan to assure proper inventory levels of products to support the business and satisfy customer demand.
- Ensure the critical analysis of inventory levels to support company goals and provide creative solutions to inventory issues.
- Correspond with sales and category leaders to determine business decisions, line planning, timing, and new product introductions.
- Collaborate with sales operations on market and consumer trends, POS/market inventory data, statistical projections, and historical analysis.
- Work directly with Sourcing to assist in managing inventory flow that supports production plans for each category.
- Facilitate and lead cross‑functional alignment to create an optimal Inventory & OTB Strategy aimed to support our Operational Forecast and help hedge against volatility.
- Communicate, troubleshoot, and resolve any constraints which may impact service levels (demand, inputs & capacity).
- Leverage design and functionality of planning systems (Anaplan, SAP, BW & BPC) to keep up‑to‑date critical inputs enabling the supply‑chain to function successfully.
- Collaborate with peers to develop proposals and provide recommendations for a better supply chain and business.
- BS or BA in Supply Chain, Business, or related field— or equivalent years of relevant and related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain, Business/Financial Planning or Sales Forecasting/Demand Planning.
- Basic understanding of P&L and financial acumen.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate at all levels of organization.
- Familiarity with reading and following market trends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
- Highly organized, diligent, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
