Senior Compliance Specialist (Project Management)

Senior Compliance Specialist ensures FHCs adherence to federal and state regulations related to consumer credit reporting, including the timely and accurate investigation of direct and indirect consumer disputes. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of compliance regulations and industry best practices.

  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for investigating and responding to direct and indirect FCRA Consumer Credit Disputes for all lines of business.
  • Coordinate, research and respond to regulatory and credit disputes.
  • Coordinate, research, and respond to consumer complaints received through the Better Business Bureau, the CFPB Complaint Portal and other sources.
  • Obtain from clients and examine information and documents to support dispute resolution. Communicate with customers, clients, and credit bureaus to resolve disputes timely.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of investigations and dispute resolutions.
  • Conduct Internal Audits to support SOC 2 and ISO controls.
  • Maintain and Manage Compliance Policies and Trainings, including:
    • Ensuring policies and training are reviewed annually by appropriate party.
    • Ensuring policies and training reside in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
    • Using the HRIS to ensure Compliance policies and training are delivered to designated employees and are acknowledged by employees.
  • Stay up to date with industry regulations and best practices related to credit dispute resolution.
  • In coordination with HR and Training, periodically review employee training materials and make recommendations as warranted.
  • Develop and execute monitoring and testing plans to:
    • Ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
    • Assess the accuracy and integrity of FHCs credit reporting.
    • Ensure employee training is being delivered in a timely manner.
  • Support other Quality Assurance and Compliance functions as needed.
  • Conduct call monitoring as needed for private loan servicing clients.
  • Attend industry webinars and other learning opportunities.
