Overview
We are currently looking for a Full Time (40 hrs/week) Refurbishment Technician with excellent construction and customer service skills to join a dynamic Environmental Services. The Refurbishment Technician performs maintenance and repairs on both a scheduled and as needed basis and provides hands-on and administrative support throughout all phases of residential unit refurbishment projects. This role is critical to maintaining quality, schedule, safety, and organization across multiple job sites, while working in compliance with established safety rules, policies and procedures.

- Supports all aspects of the River Woods community.
- Works under the direction of the Project Manager to support refurbishment projects from start to completion.
- Provides support to the Project Manager in coordination of daily jobsite activities, including subcontractors, materials and equipment, to ensure work is performed according to specifications and schedule.
- Assists in maintaining a safe work environment and securing multiple job sites at the close of each workday.
- Helps oversee project schedules, inspections, and trade sequencing.
- Performs hands‑on construction and finish work, including demolition, drywall, carpentry (trim), painting, cabinetry, hardware installation, touch‑ups and punch‑list items.
- Assists with material ordering, deliveries, material runs, staging and overall site organization.
- Maintains accurate daily logs, photos, receipts and notes using Buildertrend.
- Communicates effectively with residents, staff, subcontractors and project team members while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor at all times.
- Works independently when required, with minimal supervision.
- Uses email, text messaging and onsite walkie‑talkie communication effectively.
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn and grow within the construction and refurbishment industry, including learning new software and systems.
- Maintains tools and equipment in good working order.
- Works neatly and safely by securing work area from hazards posed to residents and staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of experience in the field. General construction knowledge with residential remodeling experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of common construction tools and jobsite practices.
- Ability to perform finish work and address detailed punch‑list tasks.
- Organized, reliable and detail‑oriented.
- Comfortable working in both occupied and vacant homes.
- Clear and professional communicator with clients, subcontractors and internal team members, with a focus on the Facilities team.
- Familiarity with Buildertrend or similar construction management software preferred; willingness to learn and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
