ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Leadership:
    Provide leadership for the Project Team (multi-discipline engineering and design team) with timely decision-making, inspirational presence, personal and team level accountability and responsibility, integrity, open and forthright communication, and transparency of motivation and action. Establish and reinforce a Project Team identity, vision, and purpose consistent with the objectives of the organization. Establish clear goals and set direction/vision for individual projects and project team members;

    be self-confident, competent, assertive, and decisive. Resolve team conflicts in a straightforward, positive, and professional manner. Role model collaborative leadership by building strong and productive relationships with other project managers to ensure the overall success of the organization and the team.
  • Team Management:
    Responsible for the overall performance of a Project Team. Organize, oversee, and manage the work of engineers and designers on the Project Team to meet project schedule and budget requirements. Perform timely employee evaluations with detailed goals and objectives for Engineers and Designers. Coordinate with discipline engineering managers to ensure professional development of team members.
  • Project Management:
    Competent and well-versed in the general principles of project management, including project scoping/initiation, project budget development, project planning and scheduling, project controls, project execution, and project close-out. Develop clear work plans to ensure the Project Team has a clear scope and plan, manage project change, track progress, and execute project requirements. Manage project schedules using a deliverables-based approach. Responsible for overall financial performance of projects.
  • Technical Leadership:
    Exhibit multi-discipline technical knowledge and engage with and challenge engineers and designers to steer projects technically and ensure timely technical decision-making. Weigh pros and cons of various technical decision points in a multi-discipline environment. Ensure efficient coordination of all engineering disciplines on a project. Inform the client regarding key technical elements of projects and implications of client goals and thought processes on overall project cost, schedule, and complexity.
  • Professionalism:
    Display a high degree of professionalism, including respectful treatment of self and others, professional representation of self and the company, pursuit of personal and professional growth, and maintaining a positive, productive attitude. Maintain professional registrations (engineering licenses) and perform responsibilities ethically and conscientiously.
  • Professional Development:
    Independently work to develop professionally by expanding knowledge of one’s field, developing new skills, or strengthening abilities. Strive to achieve professional engineering registration.
  • Client Management:
    Effectively manage client expectations through clear communication of project procedures, critical path scheduling, change management, and use of project communication channels. Serve as primary corporate liaison responsible for client satisfaction while achieving corporate objectives. Ensure timely receipt of invoice payments from the project’s clients.
  • Software Utilization:
    Become proficient in the proper use of project management software tools and general office software. Possess a basic understanding of the limitations and capabilities of software packages used by engineers and designers within the Project Team.
  • Standards and Procedures:
    Ensure corporate standards and procedures are implemented in project execution.
  • Field/Site

    Skills:

    Follow all company safety standards in the field. Support field with installation, field inquiries, and construction. Apply engineering and systems knowledge to the assessment, evaluation, start-up, and optimization of working systems.
