Phoenix Tailings is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer I who is excited to turn innovative process technology into reliable, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing operations. In this role, you will work directly with production equipment and manufacturing processes at our Exeter facility, improving throughput, reliability, quality, safety, and manufacturability. You will have the opportunity to take engineering concepts from the drawing board to the production floor and see the direct impact of your work.
This is an opportunity for an early-career engineer who wants significant hands-on experience, enjoys solving problems where the answer is not already known, and wants to help build the manufacturing foundation of a new critical metals industry.
- Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes used to produce critical metals and materials at Phoenix Tailings' Exeter facility.
- Design and implement tooling, fixtures, equipment modifications, and manufacturing solutions that improve process repeatability, throughput, safety, and product quality.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues on the production floor, identify root causes, and implement durable engineering solutions that prevent recurrence.
- Translate new process technologies into documented, repeatable manufacturing procedures that can operate reliably at increasing production volumes.
- Support the specification, installation, commissioning, qualification, and improvement of new manufacturing equipment as Phoenix expands its production capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 0-3 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, production engineering, equipment engineering, or a related hands-on engineering environment; relevant internships, co-ops, laboratory, or project experience are welcome.
- Demonstrated ability to apply engineering fundamentals to troubleshoot mechanical, manufacturing, or process-related problems and develop practical solutions.
- Experience working with manufacturing equipment, mechanical systems, fabrication processes, tooling, fixtures, engineering drawings, or CAD through professional, academic, internship, or project work.
- Abie to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to wear a respirator for extended periods of time
