Tool Crib Attendant

The Tool Crib Attendant will be responsible for ordering, storing, issuing, and maintaining all tools and CNC tool holders for the machine shop. Successful candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented, and take pride in maintaining an efficient, accurate, and well-organized tool crib. This position regularly uses precision measuring instruments, torque wrenches, grinders, cleaning equipment, and various hand tools. C/A Design is willing to train motivated candidates who possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strive toward a culture of proactive safety. Ensure cutting tools, fixtures, and job-specific hardware are returned to the tool crib and stored in their designated locations. Work closely with CNC programmers, setup technicians, and machinists to ensure that tooling is available and production schedules are supported. Inspect for worn tooling and replace as necessary. Ensure all tooling, fixtures, and hardware are clean, organized, and maintained in a ready-to-use condition.

Maintain inventory levels and help determine appropriate stocking quantities. Complete work orders for repairs as needed and follow through to ensure that the work has been completed as requested. Maintain and further develop the tooling database, including storage locations and job-specific fixture components. Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management. Maintain a clean and organized work area while supporting overall shop housekeeping standards.

Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED). 3–5 years of experience in machining, machine setup, fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment. Understanding of CNC machine setup, tool identification and machine fixtures. Previous experience using precision tools such as micrometers and calipers. Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately maintain inventory records are required. Manual machining experience with Bridgeport-style knee mills and lathes preferred, not required.

Welding experience (TIG, stainless steel, non-certified) is preferred, not required.
