The Tool Crib Attendant will be responsible for ordering, storing, issuing, and maintaining all tools and CNC tool holders for the machine shop. Successful candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented, and take pride in maintaining an efficient, accurate, and well-organized tool crib. This position regularly uses precision measuring instruments, torque wrenches, grinders, cleaning equipment, and various hand tools. C/A Design is willing to train motivated candidates who possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

- Ensure cutting tools, fixtures, and job‑specific hardware are returned to the tool crib and stored in their designated locations.
- Work closely with CNC programmers, setup technicians, and machinists to ensure that tooling is available and production schedules are supported.
- Inspect for worn tooling and replace as necessary.
- Ensure all tooling, fixtures, and hardware are clean, organized, and maintained in a ready‑to‑use condition.
- Maintain inventory levels and help determine appropriate stocking quantities.
- Complete work orders for repairs as needed and follow through to ensure that the work has been completed as requested.
- Maintain and further develop the tooling database, including storage locations and job‑specific fixture components.
- Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while supporting overall shop housekeeping standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
- 3–5 years of experience in machining, machine setup, fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of CNC machine setup, tool identification and machine fixtures.
- Previous experience using precision tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately maintain inventory records are required.
- Manual machining experience with Bridgeport‑style knee mills and lathes preferred, not required.
- Welding experience (TIG, stainless steel, non-certified) is preferred, not required.
