The Sr. Electronics Technician is responsible for performing daily activities associated with the manufacturing and testing of robotic systems at SIG SAUER's facilities. This position provides technical services involving complex UxS design, programming and setup of specialized calibration and assembly equipment, technical input for work instructions, and production floor level problem solving and data collection. This senior-level position is intended for Electronics Technicians with advanced experience in UxS technology and proven expertise in performing complex technical tasks, troubleshooting, and mentoring less experienced Electronics Technicians.
The Sr. Electronics Technician works with moderate independence as well as in a team environment and collaborates with the internal Engineering team, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, and Quality.

Job Duties and Responsibilities- Lead complex diagnostic and repair issues, optimize robotic systems, implement upgrades while serving as the top technical expert, overseeing major advanced systems failures. Set technical standards and strategy for robotics maintenance.
- Train operators on proper use of production equipment.
- Provide full technical input for the creation, implementation, and maintenance of process documentation including work instructions, control plans, and visual standards.
- Provide detailed technical services for complete new technology products in three or more of the following areas on a daily basis to the production floor: machine/tool design, assembly, testing, automation, metal finishing, programming robots/marking processes, setup of roll marking machines.
- Evaluate and improve legacy and new pre-production product designs for manufacturability and performance while applying GD&T, IPC standards, and/or dimensional stackups.
- Recommend and implement alterations and enhancements to improve quality of legacy and new pre-production products, and/or procedures, and the output and quality of legacy and new pre-production manufacturing processes. Resolve quality issues related to product and processes.
- Procure UxS components and equipment for new products and production lines to meet launch timelines and cost targets. Establish order points and order quantities for consumable and spare items using established automated component vending systems.
- Troubleshoot and fix all mechanical related issues with fixtures and machines with little to no support from others. Work with Controls Engineers on control related issues.
- May lead and actively volunteer for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
- Communicate effectively to supervision and Production management regarding problems and identify corrective action.
- Participate in and sustain 5S Standards.
- Must follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.
- Regular on-site attendance and punctuality are necessary functions of this position.
- May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts, or in other functional areas, and/or facilities based on business needs.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent, related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 7-10 years of UxS technical experience.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret part specifications.
- In-depth knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) ASME Y14.5M-2009 and/or IPC standards for Electronics Manufacturing.
