The Mechanical/Dimensional Inspector III will perform complex mechanical inspections per the technical documentation provided using pre-trained and determined methods to determine product acceptability. They will participate in continuous improvement efforts through development of enhance fixturing and inspection methods. The Mechanical/Dimensional Inspector III is able to work fully independently. Working in a team environment, they serve as an inspection subject matter expert, and consult and offer guidance to internal team members.

They consult with other disciplines to resolve issues as they arise.

• Review inspection data to assure integrity and investigate and resolve discrepancies found during part inspection.
• When required, guide the MRB team members in resolution of issues, contact the internal and external supplier, and send notifications to the internal and external customers of resolution.
• Run complex setups and inspection programs, which includes basic programming, verifying downloads, and communications the results as well as training others to use inspection equipment as required.
• Interpret dimensional tolerances and specifications, and comprehensively apply them to components of all levels of complexity.
• Independently identify complex datum structures and accurately interpret all feature control frames.
• Train other employees in best practice inspection methods.
• Communicate effectively to supervision regarding problems and corrective action.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts and events as requested.
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
• May be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.
• May be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience,and 7+ years of related work experience.
• Able to fluently participate in all areas of inspection.
• Able to operate independently at high level and complete all tasks in a timely manner.
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Fluent in setup of complex parts and ability to use all mechanical inspection tools.
• In-depth understanding of ASME Y14.5. Able to fully and independently identify complex datum structures and accurately interpret all feature control frames.

• Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
• Work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.
• Shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.
