FSRI is always looking for candidates that want to make a positive impact on the community! Join our non-public, special education certified school serving girls ages 13–18 with complex educational, behavioral, and therapeutic needs. Our students often come to us following previous placements through DCYF and benefit from a highly structured, trauma-informed environment focused on healing, growth, and individualized support.

Provide specialized and individualized instruction for students with significant emotional/behavioral needs as well as learning needs in a clinical residential school setting. Develop and monitor student Individual Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with Department of Education regulations and standards. Work collaboratively with the management team to ensure safety, stability and wellbeing of residents in our care placed through the Department of Children, Youth and Families.

This is a full‑time 185 day position. The hours are 8:30 AM‑3:00 PM.

• Provide specialized and individualized instruction to students with significant emotional/behavioral needs.
• Develop and monitor student Individual Education Programs (IEPs) following Department of Education regulations.
• Collaborate with the management team to ensure safety, stability, and wellbeing of residents.
• Participate in community visits to support student transition and therapy.
• Maintain accurate medical record and student data using appropriate software.
• Provide emergency coverage as needed, maintaining appropriate ratio to the program.

• Bachelor's Degree in Teaching or Education.
• RI Certification in Special Education.
• 3–5 years teaching experience preferred.
• Experience working with children with behavioral/psychiatric challenges.
• Skill in operating medical record software, word‑processing, and database programs.
• Spanish speaking preferred; bilingual/ASL skills compensated with additional 6% of base pay.
• Multilingual skills compensated with additional 8% of base pay.
• Master's degree candidates receive an additional $3,000.
• Excellent multitasking and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Current driver's license, reliable transportation, registration and auto insurance.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Travel ability for community locations and office site, including use of walkways, stairs, and/or elevators.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Provide emergency coverage to maintain appropriate ratio to the programs.
