Electrician Journeyman

Job Description

The Electrician Journeyman will be responsible for performing electrical installations and maintenance primarily on residential and commercial projects. Working within small teams of 2-5 members, this role requires expertise in troubleshooting electrical systems, ensuring code compliance, and adhering to safety standards. The journeyman electrician will utilize standard electrical tools, specialized testing equipment, and digital voltmeters to efficiently complete tasks while maintaining clear documentation and interacting professionally with customers.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electrical systems in residential and commercial buildings
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults ensuring safety and reliability
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety procedures
• Test equipment and systems using specialized tools and digital voltmeters
• Perform wiring and cabling tasks accurately
• Interact with customers to address concerns and provide updates
• Document work performed and maintain accurate records

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical work

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in electrical wiring and safety practices
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Experience operating hand tools
