We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Room Attendant to join our dedicated housekeeping team and ensure our hotel maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency.

As a valued and important part of the housekeeping team, the Room Attendant plays a key role in maintaining the impeccable standards of cleanliness, presentation, and comfort that define the Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel guest experience.

This hands-on role requires a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive approach. You will be responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms and public areas to the highest standard, ensuring every space is welcoming, well-presented, and fully prepared for our guests. Through your commitment to excellence and consistency, you will help create a memorable and enjoyable stay for every guest.

• Clean and service guest bedrooms, bathrooms, and public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene.

• Change bed linen, replace towels, and replenish guest amenities in accordance with hotel standards and occupancy requirements.

• Ensure all rooms are fully prepared and inspected prior to guest arrival, maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

• Report maintenance issues, damages, lost property, and health and safety concerns promptly and accurately to the Housekeeping Manager and/or Duty Manager.

• Maintain housekeeping trolleys, storage areas, and cleaning equipment in a clean, organised, and well-stocked condition.

• Follow all cleaning schedules, procedures, and hotel standards to ensure consistent delivery of guest satisfaction.

• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests for additional amenities, linen, towels, or housekeeping services.

• Adhere to all health, safety, hygiene, and COSHH procedures, ensuring safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• Work collaboratively with housekeeping colleagues and other hotel departments to support the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel.

• Uphold Mercure Exeter Southgate Hotel's standards of professionalism, presentation, guest service, and attention to detail at all times.

• Previous experience as a Room Attendant, Housekeeping Assistant, Cleaner, or in a similar role is beneficial but not essential.

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn within a fast-paced hospitality environment.

• Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to carry out active cleaning duties throughout shifts.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

• Ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
