An opportunity has arisen within our Alloy Laboratory department at our Exeter site for a Laboratory Chemist. This role operates on a 3-shift rotation, and reports to the Laboratory Supervisor.
Your main responsibilities will include;
- Calibrate and setup both new and existing instruments.
- Maintain optimal performance of instrumentation.
- Write, review and oversight of analytical methods,
- Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities.
- Participate in improvement projects.
- Maintain lab systems to ISO
17 standards and be able to interpret and apply ISO guidelines to lab processes.
- BS degree in chemistry or science or equivalent experience
- Strong math and computer skills.
- General understanding of XRF, Spark Emission and Mass Spectrometry analytical methods with background in analysis of metals (iron, nickel, and cobalt alloys) and ceramics is preferred.
- Capable of lab team leadership.
- Understanding of NADCAP and ISO
17025 Quality Systems. - 3-5 years analytical inorganic chemistry experience.
