Multiskilled Maintenance Technician

Exeter Site, England

Position:
Permanent, full-time shift position on a three-shift rotation.

• Minimise production downtime by troubleshooting breakdowns and preventing reoccurrences.
• Work with electrical and mechanical drawings and documentation undertake fault finding and modification of plant and equipment.
• Use a Maintenance Management System to carry out preventative/planned maintenance work.
• Contribute to improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability and reducing recurring issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment adhering to all EHS Company policies.
• Continuously enhance job knowledge through training and development opportunities.
• Perform electrical and mechanical work, including fabrication, welding and some minor electrical installation work as required.

• Successful completion of a time-served apprenticeship with a minimum level 3 qualification, BTEC/City and Guilds or equivalent.
• Recently demonstrated multiskilled proficiency in electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic systems, fabrication, and welding.
• Experience in vacuum technology advantageous but not essential.
• Proven competency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical diagrams as well as troubleshooting control panels.
• Ability to pass medical assessments for working at height and in confined spaces.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with office software applications.
• Resilient, resourceful approach, with sound judgment and decision‑making skills.
• Proactive work ethic, strong initiative, and the ability to operate independently within a shift team environment.

The ideal candidate would be multi‑skilled in Electrical and Mechanical, but we would consider single trades with experience in relevant disciplines (Industrial Electrician or Mechanical Fitter).
