HGV Technician

Our client, a reputable commercial workshop in the Exeter area, is actively seeking a skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a solid background in heavy and light commercial vehicle maintenance and repair. Basic salary up to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Duties of a HGV Technician:

Conduct diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on heavy and light commercial vehicles
Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and prechecks
Assist with breakdown cover and mobile service requirements
Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety compliance
Complete accurate service and repair documentation
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient job completion

Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification
Proven experience as an HGV Technician, with a minimum of 2 years within a commercial workshop or as a Mobile HGV Technician
Strong diagnostic skills and comprehensive knowledge of HGV systems
Ability to perform preventative maintenance and prechecks effectively
Flexibility to undertake mobile breakdowns and workshop duties
Valid UK driving licence; class 1 or 2 licence is advantageous but not essential
Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
