Sanctuary provides in‑house repairs and maintenance services for an extensive portfolio of properties across Sanctuary organisations. Locations

Devon, Dorset and Somerset – predominantly the EX and TA post codes.

£35,579 – £37,452 per year

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

Multi‑Trade Operative

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out internal and external repairs to empty properties.
  • Conduct construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocked when needed.
  • Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, resolving problems and keeping customers informed.
  • Provide accurate and timely information on progress of works that is easily understood by the customer.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical). Plumbing Level 3 with Unvented – G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS) may be required. Candidates must bring original certificates; copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation.
  • Competent in one or more of the following disciplines – plumbing, carpentry, wet trades, painting, glazing or fence works.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead.
  • Must hold a full valid UK driving licence; driving a company vehicle is part of the role.
