Mobile Vehicle Technician – SMR Division

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division, a new era of mobile repair. You will work scheduled jobs from driveways to workplaces, delivering routine servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs with full support and tools.

Your day starts with a clear digital schedule. Each job is pre‑booked with a member expecting you. You’ll carry out:

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs normally done in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

• Planned appointments instead of emergency responses
• Consistent workflow rather than unpredictable demands
• In‑depth repairs, not roadside temporary fixes
• Time to do the job properly, with support and parts ordering built in
• Clear schedules using RAC’s mobile service platform

• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Earnings: base salary £40,178 with on‑target earnings up to £52,000. Guaranteed overtime option available after one month at £30 per hour.

Tools: fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set and advanced diagnostics.

Time Off: 23 days of holiday rising to 25 with service, plus bank holidays.
