Overview

Electrician – Full Time Permanent

Location:

Exeter

Salary up to £40,019.70 per annum, plus a company van and fuel card. 42.5 hours per week (8:00–17:00, Monday–Friday).

• Carry out reactive repairs to lighting circuits, sockets, fuseboards and other electrical systems in domestic properties.
• Inspect and test electrical installations to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Replace or repair faulty components such as switches, outlets, light fittings and circuit breakers.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet daily repair targets.
• Communicate clearly with tenants or residents about repairs and expected outcomes.
• Ensure work areas are left clean and safe after completing repairs.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Provide high levels of customer care at all times.
• Respond to emergency call outs when required, including out-of-hours shifts if applicable.
• Undertake installation, service, repair and maintenance of domestic electrical systems.
• Use IT systems to manage and prioritise workload to complete repairs in a timely manner.

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (to include AM2).
• City & Guilds 18th Edition (if you have 17th edition you can work through 18th edition).
• Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
• Previous domestic, social housing experience is preferred.
• Inspection and Testing 2391 or equivalent (2394/2395) preferable.

• To drive a Mears vehicle: must be over 21, have held a licence for more than 3 months, and have fewer than 9 points.
