, our Plymouth Painting team now has an exciting opportunity for a Working Foreperson (formerly known as Foreman/Forewoman) to organize, supervise, and provide continuous support to a team of Painters operating in the Devon and Cornwall area.
Our teams deliver essential internal and external decorating projects within residential, commercial, and educational settings across the local and surrounding areas. We welcome “hands‑on” forepersons who enjoy leading by example and can successfully encourage and motivate a direct‑trade workforce.
Benefits- Competitive basic salary of £36,504.00 for a 39‑hour working week

- Work on tools while supervising directly employed trades team and allocating labour within residential, commercial, and educational settings.
- Daily manage team productivity and report progress and completion details to the Contracts Manager.
- Carry out health‑and‑safety reporting, including on‑site welfare checks, monitoring safe ways of working, PPE, van, and tool/equipment inspections.
- Deliver regular toolbox talks.
- Conduct pre‑work inspections, set‑ups, and post‑work inspections.
- Experience supervising sites or projects within painting or a similar setting.
- Experienced painter with a proven track record managing projects.
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a core trade.
- Excellent customer‑service and communication skills.
- Full current UK driving licence (essential).
