Operative

We're looking for an Operative to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in Greendale, Exeter.

Location: Greendale, Exeter
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

As a Reinstatement Operative, you'll play a key role in supporting the South West Water contract. You'll be responsible for reinstating highways and surfaces following excavation works for water mains repairs, new connections, and other essential utilities projects, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a collaborative team where your contribution makes a real difference to the communities we serve.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Operative, you'll be working within the Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team, supporting them in delivering high-quality reinstatement works. Your day to day will include:

  • Carrying out high-quality reinstatement works including tarmac, concrete, and modular paving following excavation
  • Ensuring reinstatement meets HAUC and local authority specifications
  • Operating plant and machinery safely such as rollers and compactors
  • Completing job documentation using tablet-based systems
  • Maintaining site safety and traffic management compliance
