Multi Trade Operative

Fraser Edwards is working with a leading social housing contractor to recruit an experienced Multi Trade Operative for a 6 month contract role covering Yeovil, Taunton, Bridgwater and Exeter.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, customer-focused tradesperson with experience in property maintenance and social housing. You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works, ensuring properties are safe, well-maintained and completed to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, delivering quality workmanship and providing excellent customer service when liaising with residents, clients and colleagues.

The Role

– Key Responsibilities

* Carpentry:
Hanging doors, fitting skirting boards and architraves, and carrying out general carpentry repairs.

* Plumbing:
Replacing taps, basins and toilets, identifying and locating leaks, diagnosing plumbing faults, and completing minor plumbing repairs.

* Kitchen and Bathroom Refurbishments:
Carrying out a range of refurbishment, repair and improvement works.

* Tiling Repairs:
Completing minor tiling repairs in kitchens and bathrooms.

* Patch Plastering:
Undertaking minor plastering repairs to achieve a smooth, professional finish.

* Snagging Works:
Identifying and rectifying defects to ensure all work meets the required quality standards.

* PDA Usage:
Accurately recording jobs, repairs and completed works using a PDA.

* Customer Liaison:
Communicating professionally with residents, clients and colleagues to deliver a reliable, customer-focused service.

Candidate Requirements

* Full UK Driving Licence:
Essential, as a company van will be provided for travelling between properties and sites.

* Relevant Trade

Qualification:

Desirable, although practical skills and hands-on experience are highly valued.

* Minimum 3 Years’

Experience:

Proven experience in multi-trade maintenance, ideally within the social housing sector.

* Strong Multi-Trade

Skills:

Competent in either carpentry or plumbing, alongside patch plastering, tiling and general property maintenance.

* Excellent Communication

Skills:

Confident liaising with residents and providing a professional, customer-focused service.

* Reliable and Self-Motivated:
Able to manage workloads independently, work efficiently and maintain high standards of workmanship.
