Position Summary
The Procurement Buyer is responsible for supporting procurement operations, supplier management, and contract execution activities within predefined thresholds. This role requires experience in contract drafting, contract negotiation, supplier management, and procurement processes. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, Category Managers, Legal, and other business partners to ensure efficient procurement operations and compliance with company policies.
Duration: 6 Months
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days/week onsite in Exton, PA)
- Draft, review, negotiate, and execute contracts and Statements of Work (SOWs) within established guidelines and approval thresholds.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to facilitate contract review, approval, and execution processes.
- Negotiate agreements and contracts to secure optimal commercial terms and conditions for Takeda.
- Ensure suppliers are covered by active and compliant contracts in partnership with Category Managers and Global Legal.
- Support new supplier onboarding activities, including completion and submission of required request forms.
- Initiate, track, and manage Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) requests and coordinate activities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare operational materials and inputs for supplier performance reviews, including collecting, consolidating, and reporting performance-related data.
- Support invoice and payment-term inquiries by coordinating with suppliers and internal business partners.
- Provide operational support for procurement events and stakeholder communications.
- Prioritize and manage assigned procurement activities based on cost, complexity, timelines, and business requirements.
- Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders while ensuring high-quality deliverables and professional communication.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional procurement experience.
- Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and Statements of Work.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and supporting supplier performance management activities.
- Understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, risk management, and contract lifecycle management.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.
- High degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and quality focus.
- Experience with in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry preferred.
- Familiarity with Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) processes and supplier onboarding programs preferred.
- Experience working in global procurement environments preferred.
We offer a competitive compensation package that includes:
- Pay Rate: $35 - $40 per Hour
