Job Description

Title: Power School Administrator

Reports To

Summary

To provide management of Collegium's Power School system, including instruction and advice to Power School end-users and coordination among all Power School users.

Job Responsibilities

  • Configure, update, and maintain Power School SIS and Schoology LMS, including security settings and user permissions.
  • Facilitate seamless integration between Power School and Schoology for roster synchronization and grade passback.
  • Monitors and communicates information concerning software updates for Power School.
  • Generate custom data queries, reports, and dashboards for school leadership.
  • Manage student enrollment, demographics, grades, and attendance data, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provides staff, parent, and student support and training in appropriate portals.
  • Creates custom reports, manages Power School report card process, and assists in class scheduling setup.
  • Administers Power School Gradebook program and assists staff in setup and management of gradebook.
  • Administers and edits HTML pages in Power School to maintain and create customized pages.
  • Serves as the liaison between the Technology Department and Power School.
  • Continually strives to improve methods, techniques, and interpersonal relationships and maintains a current knowledge of student information systems and Power School trends, research, and initiatives.
  • Provides expedient end-user support as needed in additional areas of the Technology Department, including basic desktop and network support, troubleshooting, and set-up.
  • Works cooperatively with administrators, supervisors, staff, parents/guardians, and outside vendors to perform job responsibilities as outlined.
  • Actively and effectively communicates with the Director of Operations & Technology.
  • Communicates clearly and efficiently with CCS students, parents, faculty, staff and administration.
  • Holds high expectations for self.
  • Participates in staff development programs as assigned.
  • Demonstrates effective planning, organization, and teamwork.
  • Promotes good citizenship through actions as a role model and conducts his/herself according to professional, ethical principles.
  • Displays personal qualities that reflect favorably upon the individual and the school.
  • Shares a commitment to the success of the mission, goals, and objectives of CCS.
  • Maintains highest level of confidentiality pertaining to CCS's employee records, financial information, and students' records.
  • Abides by the CCS Employee Manual as well as CCS policies and procedures.
  • Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations and Technology.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree/work experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency providing end-user support.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with SIS and LMS applications.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with MS Office products, PCs, and Apple products.
  • Proficiency in SQL, HTML/CSS, database management, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated ability to diplomatically communicate with teachers, administrators, parents, vendors, and students.
  • Possess effective communication, judgment, planning, and human relations skills, and will be able to work under periods of stress due to the level of the position responsibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Required Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt.
  • Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School.
