Summer Position Through August 31, 2026, with Potential for Continued Employment
New Horizons Montessori Academy is seeking caring and dependable Assistant Teachers and Teacher Aides to support classrooms serving children ages 6 months through kindergarten. This summer position runs through August 31, 2026, with the potential for continued employment during the academic year.
CompensationTeacher Aide
- $16.50–$18.00 per hour
- Equivalent to approximately $18.20–$19.85 per hour due to paid breaks
Assistant Teacher
- $18.00–$19.00 per hour
- Requires a minimum of 2,000 hours (approximately 2 years) of professional childcare experience
- Equivalent to approximately $19.85–$22.05 per hour due to paid breaks
Summer pay rates apply through August 31, 2026. Compensation for any continued employment will be determined based on the position offered for the academic year.
Responsibilities- Assist teachers with classroom activities, daily routines, and transitions
- Supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing environment
- Assist with diapering, toileting, meals, and hygiene routines as needed
- Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and licensing compliance
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience in a preschool, daycare, Montessori, or early childhood setting preferred
- CDA, ECE coursework, or related education is a plus
- Reliable attendance and punctuality required
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain required clearances and health documentation, including FBI Fingerprinting, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check, Physical Examination, and TB Screening
