Achievement House Cyber Charter School is seeking a Special Education Instructional Teacher who is dedicated to ensuring every student has access to the support, instruction, and opportunities needed to achieve success. In this role, you will provide specialized instruction, manage IEP services, monitor student progress, and collaborate closely with families and educators. Through a student-centered approach, you will help remove barriers to learning, promote meaningful achievement, and ensure compliance with federal and state Special Education regulations.
The specific position we are seeking is for an Itinerant Math Special Education Teacher, though this is subject to change.
Instructional Responsibilities- Teach live courses aligned to approved curriculum and instructional expectations.
- Record all live instructional sessions.
- Develop instructional materials, including Power Points, for each lesson.
- Maintain Schoology course pages per Schoology 101 requirements.
- Provide daily asynchronous instruction (Mon–Fri) with step-by-step guidance and video support.
- Ensure a minimum of three substantive student submissions per week per 1.0 credit course.
- Complete timely grading and provide regular feedback on all coursework.
- Submit quarterly report card grades by required deadlines.
- Participate in Resource Support for your caseload students.
- Serve as case manager for assigned special education students.
- Coordinate and complete IEP revisions (including SDI, related services, goals, scheduling, ESY, assessments, graduation dates/pathways, and referrals).
- Ensure full IEP team meetings occur for graduation-related changes.
- Participate in all IEP-related meetings (annuals, reevaluations, SAICs, and revisions).
- Complete Teacher Input Forms, RORs, and reevaluation documentation.
- Prepare and distribute required notices (NOREPs, Procedural Safeguards, and IEP invitations).
- Complete quarterly progress reports for all caseload students.
- Conduct weekly wellness checks for all caseload students.
- Complete academic and engagement check-ins at least every three weeks, with support from the Special Education Compliance Teacher as needed.
- Initiate welcome calls/emails for newly assigned students and families.
- Schedule academic intervention and disengagement meetings for students not making adequate progress.
- Continue intervention efforts beyond 6- and 10-day SAIC meetings when attendance concerns persist.
- Collaborate with related service providers at least every three weeks to ensure coordinated services.
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation in EdInsight for all student, family, agency, and service provider contacts.
- Complete referral documentation for evaluations, reevaluations, and related services discussed in IEP meetings.
- Facilitate translation requests for required special education documents.
- Ensure compliance with federal, Pennsylvania, and school special education requirements.
- Attend all required professional development for 10-month instructional staff.
- Complete annual SPM and IEP Progress Monitoring requirements in PA-ETEP.
- Maintain and submit PA-ETEP Quotes Portfolio for end-of-year evaluation.
- Monitor and respond to all communications (email, voicemail, text, Schoology, Teams) in a timely manner.
- Participate in required meetings, PLCs, trainings, and school-wide events/initiatives.
- Proctor state and local testing as assigned.
- Attend and/or assist with in-person requirements.
- Leverage available data and visualization tools to monitor progress, track key metrics, and guide decision-making.
- Additional duties as assigned including providing support to Special Education Compliance Teachers.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education.
- Level I or Level II PA Certification in Special Education.
