Duties, Responsibilities & OtherThis opportunity is an entry-level transportation engineering position. This opportunity is intended for Spring 2026 graduates, with the position starting in Summer 2026. The position will be within the Transportation Practice of KCI Technologies to perform the following duties:
- Assist in the development of multiple construction plans for transportation projects. These duties will be performed under the supervision of a senior project engineer or project manager.
- Perform work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment. Assignments usually include engineering calculations, interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications, and assistance with proposal preparation.
- Help to coordinate work of multiple engineering disciplines, as well as performing drafting/CADD work for the project.
- Develops engineering reports, quantities and Construction Cost Estimates
The ideal candidate will possess these preferred qualifications:
- General Knowledge and/or experience with Micro Station, AutoCAD
- Candidate must have good communication and technical writing skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and NACTO standards
- EIT certification Preferred
Education and/or
Skills Required:
- 0-2 Years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program
- General knowledge of required design software (Micro Station, AutoCAD, Revit)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good communication and technical writing skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:
- Previous internships or work experience in the Engineering field
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations
Required:
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to maintain required certifications
Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred:
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
