Overview
We are seeking a Senior HVAC and Building Services Engineer to join our team in Exton, PA. Our office in Exton is responsible for managing design projects including mechanical, electrical, plumbing/fire protection, and process disciplines within biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical, and high‑tech industrial facilities. We are a multidisciplinary team that collaborates on new projects and upgrades to existing facilities.
Your role- Delegate and direct work to junior engineers, designers, CAD technicians, and interns.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Participate in owner meetings for project kick‑off and review presentations, leading discipline‑related discussions.
- Conduct field surveys of existing conditions and on‑site construction progress punch‑list reviews.
- Work independently to solve complex problems.
- Compile data and prepare reports.
- Coordinate operation within the project team to ensure schedules are met, workforce needs are tracked and conveyed, and consistency with policies and procedures is upheld.
- Prepare concept‑study presentations and written basis‑of‑design documents.
- Design HVAC systems, including:
- Building heating and cooling loads.
- Airflow diagrams.
- Room‑to‑room pressurization plans.
- Hydronic flow and riser diagrams.
- Static pressure and pump head calculations.
- Selecting chillers, boilers, heat exchangers, and associated central plant equipment.
- Selecting air handlers, exhaust fans, air valves, and diffusers.
- Specifying sequence of operation and control point lists.
- Reviewing shop drawings and responding to requests for information.
- LEED documentation (a plus).
- Design plumbing systems (a plus).
- Design fire protection systems (a plus).
- Complete quality‑management training and comply with the program, upholding a culture of quality in all aspects of work.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Ten years of experience as an HVAC engineer working on pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, and/or highly technical industrial projects.
- Knowledge of codes, standards, and industry norms.
- Computer skills required:
Carrier HAP or Trane Trace, Excel, Word. - Computer skills a plus:
AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Navisworks. - Located within an hour commute of Exton, PA.

Compensation is between $99,500 and $165,800 annually, depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
