We are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to support cybersecurity operations within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role partners with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Digital, and IT teams to help secure operational technology (OT), information technology (IT), and R&D systems while ensuring compliance with corporate cybersecurity standards and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical resource, helping identify security risks, implement controls, support change management activities, and strengthen cybersecurity governance across manufacturing and laboratory environments.
Responsibilities- Support and maintain cybersecurity controls for IT, OT, and R&D systems.
- Verify, maintain, and reconcile user access and digital asset inventories.
- Participate in cybersecurity assessments for new systems, software, and infrastructure changes.
- Assist with antivirus deployment, operating system patching, endpoint protection, and system hardening initiatives.
- Support secure network configurations by identifying and remediating insecure protocols and services.
- Maintain OT asset inventories, network documentation, and system diagrams.
- Assist with cybersecurity governance activities, including development of procedures, RASCI documentation, and operational standards.
- Support technology change control activities to ensure cybersecurity requirements are incorporated into system modifications.
- Partner with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and IT teams to evaluate cybersecurity risks and recommend appropriate controls.
- Assist during customer, internal, and regulatory audits by providing cybersecurity documentation and technical support.
- Stay current on evolving cybersecurity threats, industry standards, and best practices to continuously improve the organization's security posture.
- Associate's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum five years of experience supporting cybersecurity, IT, OT, or engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and security controls.
- Experience working within regulated industries such as medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or advanced manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts and cybersecurity requirements throughout system implementation.
- Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining procedures using formal change control processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CRISC, or similar.
- Experience with Computer System Validation (CSV).
- Knowledge of FDA-regulated environments and quality standards.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR Parts 11, 211, and 820.
- Exposure to cloud technologies, software assurance, or data analytics.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, laboratory, or operational technology environments.
