Meridian Equipment Finance – Vice President, Director of Sales

Drive Meridian Equipment Finance Sales Department to exceed aggressive growth targets by creating and executing high‑impact strategies that develop new vendor relationships and accelerate new business generation. Build and lead a disciplined, performance‑focused team by ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards while coaching a motivated team to consistently outperform expectations. Maintain strong cross‑department alignment to remove obstacles, streamline execution, and keep deals moving.

Deliver clear, data‑driven reporting and actionable insights to leadership that fuel smarter decisions and sustained sales momentum.

Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Marketing or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years’ sales and sales management experience in small ticket leasing
  • Ability to work in a team environment as a role player and leader
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft, CRM, etc.)
  • High degree of attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Track record and demonstrated success in implementing strategic sales initiatives
  • Successful track record of leading and managing a sales team
Essential functions and responsibilities
  • Lead by example as a business generating sales leader.
  • External face of the company in specific targeted industries.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives that drive new vendor-based relationships.
  • Implement strategies to achieve goals assigned to the department.
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training sales team
  • Responsible for executing the company CRM, including accuracy of input and adoption by all sales representatives
  • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance objectives of the sales team
  • Leads the sales staff in training, reviewing markets for potential and coordinating a team approach to penetrate potential opportunities
  • Directs channel development and establishes sales territories, quotas and goals.
  • Meets with key clients and potential new clients, assisting the sales team with the delivery of presentations, negotiating and closing relationships
  • Monitors and controls expenses to budgetary limits
  • Establish trade show attendance and lead team’s selling strategy
  • Develops and directs the selling efforts by training and providing performance and coaching evaluations
  • Organizes the work and activities of the department in order to achieve established goals; monitors the efficiency and performance of the department versus established standards
  • Directly supervises assigned employees including assisting in the selection of new hires as appropriate, training employees and reviews performance throughout their introductory period and on an annual basis
  • Creates an environment in which upward communication from employees is encouraged
  • Communicates with the President, COO, other department managers, and appropriate staff in order to integrate goals and activities
  • Provides periodic reports to the President and other groups as required throughout the Bank
