** Job Description
** Teledyne Qioptiq has an immediate need for an
** Assembly Technician**. This is a non-exempt position that would receive overtime for working over 40 hours a week.  Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to perform duties with minimal supervision, thrives on challenge, mastering new information and ideas, is innovative and flexible, willing to tackle any task required in a constantly changing environment, can grow intellectually and professionally along with our company.

**** Responsibilities:
*** Assembly of discrete and multichip semiconductor packages.
* Dispensing encapsulant and curing of products.
* Loading and unloading of assembly fixtures.
* Operation of complex manufacturing equipment, such as vacuum reflow furnaces, laser marking system, packaging dicing saw, pick and place, nitrogen ovens, tunnel belt furnace, oxygen plasma cleaner, vacuum encapsulation chambers, robotic dispensing gantry, manual solder screen station, X-ray and dimensioning inspection machines.
* ** Keep work spaces clean and organized**.
** Requirements:
*** Pay attention to fine details.
* Able to wear ¾ or full-face respirators and all required PPE.
* Capable of moving inventory and/or small equipment.
* Can perform repetitive tasks with attentiveness.
* Constant movement: sitting, standing, bending, walking and lifting up to 50lbs on occasion.
* Steady hands for manual placement of components as small as .030”.
* Working with microscopes, tweezers, vacuum pens
* Capable of following procedures, detailed written/verbal instructions.
* Ability to prioritize tasks.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Comfortable sometimes working around high voltage, high temperatures, and harsh chemicals.
* Please note that due to the requirements from the Department of Energy, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED;
* This position requires the use of information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
* Visa sponsorship is not available for any position at Teledyne.

*** Possess mechanical aptitude.
* Good at multi-tasking.
* Flexible and eager to do what’s necessary to get the job done.
* Strong troubleshooting skills.
* Strong computer skills (MS Office, network navigation)
* Advantage:
Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and terminology.
* Advantage:
Experience in manufacturing, semiconductor packaging.

Expertise in soldering: surface mount, through hole, and wiring harnesses#qioptiq
