Summary / Objective
The Sanitation Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized production facility. This includes routine sanitation of manufacturing equipment, warehouse, office areas, and common spaces, as well as supporting operational needs to ensure manufacturing activities are uninterrupted. This role supports compliance with all company policies, food safety protocols, and sanitation standards.
Summary / ObjectiveThe Sanitation Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized production facility. This includes routine sanitation of manufacturing equipment, warehouse, office areas, and common spaces, as well as supporting operational needs to ensure manufacturing activities are uninterrupted. This role supports compliance with all company policies, food safety protocols, and sanitation standards.
Essential Functions- Perform daily sanitation and housekeeping tasks across the manufacturing facility
- Complete master sanitation schedule tasks, including cleaning of equipment, floors, racking, walls, and high traffic areas
- Operate floor scrubbers, dispose of trash and cardboard, and maintain cleanliness of perimeter and dock areas
- Clean and maintain office areas, conference rooms, break rooms, and employee entrances
- Monitor and replenish sanitation supplies, including stock in Cintas cabinets
- Accurately complete sanitation logs and report concerns or issues to the supervisor
- Assist operations by supporting basic material movement and facility readiness tasks as needed
- Support weekly, quarterly, and annual sanitation and light maintenance activities
- Maintain awareness of food safety and plant safety standards, and follow all related guidelines
- Participate in maintaining a safe, hazard free workplace by removing debris and reporting issues
- Follow all applicable regulations and internal procedures including:
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
- HACCP, Food Defense, Allergen Control, Kosher and Organic requirements
- OSHA workplace safety standards
- Perform other duties related to operations, warehousing, or food manufacturing as assigned
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation practices in manufacturing environments
- Understanding of basic OSHA standards and workplace safety expectations
- Experience operating floor scrubbers and sanitation equipment
- Forklift and pallet jack experience or certification preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus

- GED or High School Diploma
- Experience in food or ingredient manufacturing environments preferred
- Exposure to cGMP, FDA, or USDAregulated environments is a plus
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 55 lbs., with or without assistance
- Ability to push or pull drums and sanitation equipment using mechanical aids or other tools
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and occasional ladder climbing
- Ability to work in a climate controlled facility (6872°F yearround)
- Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and related tools
- Routine exposure to production and warehouse environments
- Personal protective equipment (PPE), uniforms, and safety training are provided
